The impressive schedule of 44 runway shows presents grand household names such as By Malene Birger, Bruuns Bazaar, Sand and Day Birger et Mikkelsen and brands including Henrik Vibskov and Stine Goya, while adding a number of shooting stars like Anne Sofie Madsen and Asger Juul Larsen. The season also presents several runway debuts, including Danish Gestuz and Swedish Velour. Development director for Copenhagen Fashion Week Anne Christine Persson says: "We are very pleased to have two of the biggest Danish fashion brands back in schedule. Both SAND and Day Birger et Mikkelsen are renowned for their grand fashion shows, so we have something extraordinary to look forward to this season." Fashion is one of Denmark's largest exports, and a growing interest in Danish design can be seen in the increase in Danish fashion exports of recent years. Despite the crisis, export shares and total turnover figures have risen since 2007. The more than 2000 companies and brands presented at Co! penhagen Fashion Week this February are the ones that have adapted, survived and developed.
